Chennai, May 19: Superstar Rajinikanth on Friday hit back at BJP leader Subramanian Swamy’s over his ‘not even a Tamilian’ jibe at him.
Meeting fans in Kodambakkam in Chennai, today, Rajinikanth first spoke about the speculations of his entering politics.
“I have responsibilities and work. It’s the same with you. Let’s do that first. But when the ultimate war comes, we all will see”.
Then, responding to Swamy’s quip, Rajinikanth said his fans had made him Tamilian.
“I lived in Karnataka for 23 years and Tamil Nadu for 43 years. Although I am from Karnataka, you welcomed me; made me true Tamilian,” the actor said.
Subramanian Swamy has gone on record to say that Rajinikanth is a “Marathi from Bengaluru.”
“Rajini has been with various parties and has no ideology. Rajini is a mere distraction.”
Swamy also took potshots at the megastar’s fans. “It is a cult following,” he said.
