Mumbai: Renowned artistic yoga guru Bharat Thakur who introduced artistic yoga worldwide and is a proud owner of artistic yoga studios not just in India but all over the world revealed his creative side at the inauguration of his seven day art exhibition, SPECTRE SPIRIT AND SHADOWS: The presence of Absence on 14th July 2017.
This was the first ever solo exhibition held at theJhanagir Art Gallery, Kala Ghoda in its history of existence. He displayed his abstract work that were intuitive and a vibrant splash of colours.
Bharat Thakur’s passion for art is rather visible through his paintings and his depiction of Aghori Babastook all the art enthusiasts present by surprise. All of Thakur’s paintings are without the use of paint brushes and he is one such artist who paints with bear hands with such perfection.
“I don’t know how to work with a brush because it has varied sizes. I know each segment of my hand, nails and fingers, for me they are my brushes”, says Thakur.
The occasion was graced by the hon’ Maharashtra Chief Minister’s wife Mrs. Amruta Devndra Fadnavis who happens to be an art aficionado. Unveiling the first painting of the exhibition Mrs. Phadnavis said “It is exquisite beyond bounds, beyond colors and beyond reasons.I am sure that the critics will love it including all of us. When I think of a painting, I think of it as poetry which can be felt and seen. Looking at this one painting I can see it coming from a person whose chakras are enlightened”.
The event saw an impressive attendance which included many art enthusiasts like BCCI CEO Rahul Johri, Sangeeta Bijlani, BhumikaChawla, Soha Ali Khan, Swara Bhaskar and Pooja Chopra to name a few. It was a high profile event which also had a special saxophone and a band performance throughout the event to entertain the guests present.
