Jeep Wrangler Launched In India; Priced At ₹ 63.94 Lakh

The Jeep Wrangler is now considerably lighter than its predecessor. While the body is still made out of steel, the doors, bonnet and fenders are now made out of aluminium. The SUV also gets diff locks that can now be activated by an electronic switch on the central console and a button to disconnect the sway bars for extra articulation.

New Delhi: Jeep has officially launched 4th generation Wrangler with prices starting at Rs 63.94 lakhs. The new-gen Wrangler will be available only in the 5-door Wrangler Unlimited version. Powering the 2019 Jeep Wrangler will be a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol motor produces 268bhp and 400Nm of torque. This engine will be paired exclusively to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Inside, the new Wrangler is more spacious and better-equipped than before. Features include a 7.0-inch multi-info display, an 8.4-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, a tyre-pressure monitoring system, rear AC vents and multiple 12V sockets and USB ports. Additionally, the infotainment screen also shows a variety of information related to off-roading, ranging from axle status and steering angle to the car’s altitude, longitude and latitude. Pitch and roll angles are also displayed. Standard safety kit on the SUV includes dual airbags, ABS with EBS, ESC, electronic roll mitigation, traction control and hill-start assist.

Compared to the previous generation model, the new-generation Jeep Wrangler features circle-shaped LED headlamps separated by the signature seven-slat grille. The turn indicators and DRLs have been repositioned and now sit on the front wheel arches. The side profile features 18-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, the model features a door-mounted spare tyre.

The SUV also gets diff locks that can now be activated by an electronic switch on the central console and a button to disconnect the sway bars for extra articulation. Obviously, as always, the Jeep Wrangler will have a 4-wheel-drive high and 4-wheel-drive low mode along with a new 4-wheel-drive auto mode that will work based off sensors that measure traction slip.

There will be just one engine option on offer, which is 2.0-litre high power turbo petrol engine. The Jeep Wrangler will only be available with an 8-speed automatic gearbox – which is also brand new. Jeep will be offering warranty for 2 years and unlimited kilometres on the Wrangler as well.
