Manasi Tata appointed as new vice chairman of Toyota Kirloskar Motor

New Delhi: Manasi Tata has been announced as the vice chairman of Toyota Kirloskar Motor and Toyota Kirloskar Auto Parts (TKAP) with immediate effect. The statement issued by the company said that the board, after the demise of Vikram Kirloskar, has decided to make his daughter Manasi the vice chairman of Toyota Kirloskar Motor.

Manasi is replacing her father after he passed away due to a heart attack in November last year. She was already a board member and was involved in the decision-making.

Talking about the decision, the Managing Director and CEO of Toyota Kirloskar Motor, Masakazu Yoshimura said that Manasi brings ‘inclusive thinking’ and a ‘people-centric outlook’ to the firm. He added that her understanding of the Indian auto industry will help the company to deliver “Mass Happiness to All.”

Manasi Tata is also the wife of Neville Tata, the son of Ratan Tata’s half-brother Noel Naval Tata. She is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, US. She is the fifth generation descendant of her family business and as per the company’s statement, Manasi is into art and is close to her NGO, ‘Caring with Colour’, which works with schools in three districts of Karnataka.

She has been the Director of Toyota Industries Engine India Pvt Ltd, Kirloskar Toyota Textile Machinery Pvt Ltd, Toyota Material Handling India Pvt Ltd, and Denso Kirloskar Industries Pvt Ltd since December 2022. Meanwhile, her mother Geetanjali Kirloskar is the chairman and MD of Kirloskar System Pvt Ltd.

As per the firm, Manasi is working to fulfil her father’s vision and strengthen relationships with the stakeholders.
