Sachin Tendulkar unveils new BMW X5 SUV in India, priced @ Rs 72.9 lakh
The X5 is going to be BMW’s flagship SUV in India until the X7 arrives within the next couple of months. It is based on the carmaker’s new Cluster Architecture or CLAR.
New Delhi: BMW India’s brand ambassador Sachin Tendulkar, launched the 4th generation X5 luxury SUV on Thursday. The 2019 X5 arrives in our country with a starting price of Rs 72.90 lakh for the xDrive30d Sport variant.
The X5 is going to be BMW’s flagship SUV in India until the X7 arrives within the next couple of months. It is based on the carmaker’s new Cluster Architecture or CLAR. This is the same underpinning on which other BMWs such as the 5 Series, 7 Series and X3 are based on. The new version of this SUV packs in a host of updates.
The new X5 is based on the CLAR platform that also underpins 5 Series, 7 Series and the X3 in the automaker’s line-up. The SUV is now larger and more feature loaded than ever. It is 36 mm longer, 66 mm wider and 19 mm taller.
Internally codenamed G05, the fourth generation BMW X5 continues to retain is sporty characteristics and design, while evolving in design.

Features & Specifications:
BMW X5 xDrive30d is powered by a 3.0-litre, turbocharged 6-cylinder diesel engine that generates a staggering 265 hp of max power and 620 Nm of max torque.
Both engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and offer BMW’s xDrive AWD (all-wheel drive) as standard.
BMW says that the new X5 offers more space inside the cabin. The interiors have been designed in such a way that they offer a sporty ambience. The layout is in sync with what we have seen in the recent launches from the brand.
Two diesel models, 2 petrol variants
Bookings for all variants are now open across all BMW dealerships in India, and deliveries will commence soon.
The Bavarian carmaker is offering the 2019 X5 in two diesel models, xDrive30d Sport and xDrive30d xLine, while the petrol variant, i.e. xDrive40i M Sport, as we had mentioned above, will be launched later in 2019.
And before we forget, the BMW X5’s list of colour options includes the following metallic paintworks: Mineral White, Phytonic Blue, and Black Sapphire.
The top-spec xDrive40i M Sport has been priced at Rs lakh 82.4 (ex-showroom).
