TVS rolls out 50,000th BMW G 310 bike from Hosur plant

New Delhi: TVS Motor Company has been manufacturing the BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS for BMW Motorrad at its plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu; and the 50,000th unit of the 310cc motorcycles was rolled out today.

The milestone motorcycle rolled out from TVS’ Hosur plant in the presence of Dr Markus Schramm, Head of BMW Motorrad, and KN Radhakrishnan, director and CEO, TVS Motor Company.

“Over the course of this six-year partnership, we have had an opportunity to create a common learning platform for both the companies resulting in the creation of aspirational products for the global market,” TVS Motor Company Director and CEO KN Radhakrishnan said in a statement

“It is heartening to see BMW’s foray into sub-500cc segment meet with positive response across the globe. We are delighted to be a part of this success story,” said Radhakrishnan.

That “we are rolling out the 50,000 unit of our 310 series motorcycles in less than two years…reaffirms our decision to offer premium products for the sub-500cc segment,” said Schramm.

It has started exports of the two BMW Motorrad models in December 2016. At present, these models are being exported to more than 90 countries, said TVS Motor.
