New Delhi: The Month of August 2022 started on Monday. In August there are a few holidays so the banks across the country will be closed for 18 days. However, the holidays vary from state to state.
Below here, one can check the list of holidays as per the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) calendar. The list will tell you when and where the government banks will be closed on which date.
The list is as follows:
August 1: Due to Drukpa Tshe-zi banks will be closed in Gangtok
August 8: Due to Muharram (Ashoora) banks will be closed in Jammu, Srinagar
August 9: Due to Muharram (Ashoora) banks will be closed in Agartala, Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patna, Raipur and Ranchi
August 11: Due to Raksha Bandhan banks will be closed in Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Dehradun, Jaipur, and Shimla
August 12: Due to Raksha Bandhan banks will be closed in Kanpur and Lucknow
August 13: Due to Patriot’s Day banks will be closed in Imphal
August 15: Due to Independence Day banks will be closed All over India
August 16: Due to Parsi New Year (Shahenshahi) banks will be closed in Belapur, Mumbai, and Nagpur
August 18: Due to Janmashtami banks will be closed in Bhubaneswar, Dehradun, Kanpur and Lucknow
August 19: Due to Janmashtami (Shravan Vad-8)/ Krishna Jayanthi banks will be closed in Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Gangtok, Jaipur, Jammu, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong and Shimla
August 20: Due to Sri Krishna Ashtami banks will be closed in Hyderabad
August 29: Due to Tithi of Srimanta Sankardeva banks will be closed in Guwahati
August 31: Due to Samvatsari (Chaturthi Paksha)/Ganesh Chaturthi/ Varasiddhi Vinayaka Vrata/ Vinayakar Chathurthi banks will be closed in Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Nagpur and Panaji

August 13: Second Saturday + Patriot’s Day
