New Delhi: The Income Tax department has extended the last date for filing ITR for Assessment Year 2019-20 till November 30, this year. Earlier, the last date for filing ITRs for Financial Year 2018-2019 was September 30.
This is the fourth extension of the deadline filing ITR returns, due to the pandemic.

It was first revised till June 30, then July 31, then September 30 and now till November 30.
The Income Tax department, in a statement, said that the decision was taken after further consideration of genuine difficulties being faced by the taxpayers due to the Covid-19.

In an another statement, the IT department said that it has issued refunds worth Rs 1.18 lakh crore to over 33 lakh taxpayers in 6 months till September 29. This include personal income tax refunds amounting to Rs 32,230 crore issued to 37.5 lakh taxpayers and corporate tax refunds amounting to Rs 86,094 crore to over 1.78 taxpayers during this period.
