Nifty closes above 10,000-mark for first time

Mumbai, July 26: Indian equity markets on Wednesday provisionally closed at a record high, with the benchmark index NSE Nifty settling firmly above the 10,000-mark for the first time.

It touched record intra-day high of 32,413.63 during the trade as investors flocked to bluechips ahead of expiry of derivatives contracts for July on Thursday.

The 30-share BSE Sensex went up by 154.19 points to close at 32,382.46.
