New Delhi: Memecoin Shiba Inu emerged as the most popular cryptocurrency surpassing the major cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ether, and Dogecoin on the international market tracker, CoinMarketCap. SHIB become the most viewed coin on the platform. Shiba Inu is the thirteenth largest crypto in terms of valuation with a market capitalisation of over $20 billion. Earlier this year, SHIB have also breached into the top 10 coins as per market capitalisation.
Besides, in October, Shiba Inu surged by more than 216% within a week, touching an all-time high record of $0.000088. Currently, each Shiba Inu token is trading at $0.00003823.
CoinMarketCap, in a Twitter post of “2021 Wrap Up” stated that Shiba Inu headed the list on the popularity index followed by Bitcoin, Dogecoin, Cardano, and Ethereum in the second, third, fourth, and fifth positions respectively.

SHIB was originally created as a joke to rival Dogecoin, which emerged as the 11th biggest cryptocurrency coin by market value on October 25. Recently, SHIB adoption has also witnessed momentum.
Reportedly, on December 3, Canadian online medical service provider ‘Ask The Doctor’ announced that it had added $1.5 million worth of SHIB tokens to its balance sheet, to prepare to token to be accepted as a payment option from its partners.
Besides, the US movie theatre congregation AMC is also planning to accept Shiba Inu tokens as payment options.
According to a research firm, ICO Analytics report, Shiba Inu appeared to be the most popular cryptocurrency on Twitter, earlier this year.
Other international exchanges – Kraken and Bitpay listed the Shiba Inu coin on their platforms earlier this month.
CoinMarketCap reported that Shiba Inu is held by 1,090,840 wallet addresses and 14,645 active addresses. The coin is listed on 447 exchanges around the world.
