Assembly Bypoll Results: BJP wins from Gujarat’s Jasdan, Congress wins Jharkhand’s Kolebira

New Delhi: The counting of votes for Jasdan Assembly by-polls in Gujarat and Kolebira in Jharkhand took place on Sunday. Congress candidate Naman Bixal Kongari won by 9658 votes in Kolebira. BJP candidate Kunvarji Bavaliya won from Gujarat’s Jasdan assembly seat. He defeated the Congress by 19,985 votes.

The by-elections in Gujarat’s Jasdan and Jharkhand’s Kolebira were held on Thursday (December 20).

The bypolls in Jasdan and Kolebira are being touted as a prestige battle for the BJP and the Congress, with the former still reeling from defeats in assembly elections in three Hindi heartland states – Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
