Now, ally trouble in UP? Apna Dal says smaller parties not getting due respect in NDA
New Delhi: Days after Upendra Kushwaha-led RLSP quit the NDA coalition, another ally of BJP in Uttar Pradesh, Apna Dal has raised the alarm for the saffron party.
Apna Dal leader and minister in Modi cabinet Anupriya Patel skipped UP CM Yogi Aditynath’s event today.
This came after Apna Dal president and her husband raised voice against the ‘treatment of smaller parties’ in NDA.
Though banners and posters put up at the venue carried her pictures, the Apna Dal (S) leaders claimed that Anupriya had skipped the programme as no formal invite had been extended to her.
Apna Dal warns BJP of losses in UP
Apna Dal national president Ashish Patel told reporters on Tuesday that its workers are not given due importance by the bigger allies.
“The BJP should learn from the recent losses (in assembly elections). The SP-BSP alliance is a challenge for the NDA, whose allies in UP are upset. The leadership at the Centre must do something else the NDA would suffer in UP,” he had told reporters.
The Apna Dal (S) not only went public with its frustration with the BJP, but also demanded a “respectable number” of seats to contest the Lok Sabha elections, asserting that the party had widened its base during the last five years.
