Plot
Samantha “Sam” Blake is a dedicated, no-nonsense fashion buyer for a department store, focused solely on her job. She is practical, unglamorous, and dresses in a masculine, plain style. Samantha cares little about romance. Her boss, Leena is a witty and experienced woman and shares her practical view of life.
Meanwhile, Steve Sherman is a charming but cynical newspaper columnist specializing in writing about love and relationships. However, his personal life is a mess. He’s reeling from a failed romance, and his boss sends him to Paris to clear his head and write fresh material.
Both Sam and Leena are sent to Paris on a business trip to observe and gather ideas for the upcoming fashion season. Paris, the city of love, contrasts starkly with Sam’s indifferent attitude toward romance.
Steve, struggling to find inspiration, meets Sam under less-than-romantic circumstances. He initially dismisses her as an unfashionable and uninteresting woman. However, after a misunderstanding and a series of chance encounters, he starts taking more notice of her.
At one point, inspired by the elegance of Parisian fashion, Sam undergoes a major transformation. With help from designers and stylists, she reinvents herself into a sophisticated and glamorous woman. She dons stylish dresses, exudes confidence, and adopts the mannerisms of a high-society Parisian lady.
When Steve sees her after this transformation, he completely fails to recognize her as the same woman he met earlier. Instead, he assumes she is a glamorous and possibly scandalous courtesan—a woman who lives a life of luxury by charming wealthy men.
Realizing the mix-up, Sam decides to play along, seeing it as an opportunity to have fun at Steve’s expense and turn the tables on his usual cocky attitude.
