New Delhi: The Telugu film industry has produced numerous mythology-based classics, like the timeless “Mayabazar” and “Lava Kusa.” Until the late 1970s, in fact, the majority of Telugu films were based on mythical stories from the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. Many performers, notably NT Rama Rao, Sobhan Babu, and Haranath, have garnered fame for their portrayals of Lord Ram on screen. After a lengthy wait, a top hero such as Prabhas accepting the part of Ram created a lot of excitement. Because of this, Om Raut’s “Adipurush” became popular.

Although inspired by Valmiki’s Ramayana, “Adipurush” is not an exact replica of the epic, but rather Om Raut’s own rendition of the story. Om Raut is exclusively dedicated to the Ramayana’s climactic battle scene. His intention was most likely to attract the younger generation, who are currently interested in viewing Hollywood superhero films, by making an epic story relevant to them. He used cutting-edge filmmaking methods used in recent hits like “War for the Planet of the Apes” (2017) to make the Ramayana appealing to a younger viewership.
