American Society of Magical Negros OTT Release: The American Comedy film is all set to arrive in the OTT Platforms from 15th September on Jio Cinema. The film was also premiered in the Sundance Film Festival in January 2024 and was released in theaters in March 2024.

The film received mixed response on Rotten Tomatoes and same response from the critics.

Plot 

The story of the series revolves around an African-American man named Aren. Aren works in a art gallery but gets heart-broken and feels rejected when no one appreciates his work.

Seeing him depressed, the owner of the Art Gallery advises him to work on a specific pattern. He gets shattered again when one day he is mistaken as a bar-tender. The owner then empathizes with him.

Aren feels devasted from these incidents and left everything and head home. While he is on his way he notices a women struggling with her ATM card. She asks him for help

But things take a dramatic turn when Aren is falsely accused of theft which results in a physical confrontation with two white men. Then he was helped by the bar owner Roger who intervenes and sort things out.

Roger then introduces Aren to the American Society of Magical Negroes. The aims aims to protect the lives of African Americans. Aren observes significant acts of reassurance by black men towards whites.

He also helps a Police Officer emotionally who had lost his self confidence. Meawhile Aren develop feelings for a woman he saw in a Coffee shop. The society then assigns him a task to help a depressed white colleague.

Aren discovers that this man reports to Lizzie who also works there. However the other guy Jason also likes Lizzie and Aren’s friend Roger asks him to focus on his work and forget lizzy.

Star Cast and Production

The film is directed by Kobi Libbi and star cast features Justice Smith, David Alan, An-Li Bogan, Drew Tarver and Michaela Watkins in pivotal roles.
