New Delhi: The official OTT Release date of Adah Sharma’s controversial movie Bastar: The Naxal Story has been finally unveiled by the filmmakers.
Written and directed by Sudipto Sen, the movie will start streaming on Zee5 on May 17th, 2024, in Telugu and Hindi language, allowing the platform’s subscribers to watch it from their home’s comfort.
Bastar: The Naxal Story Box Office Performance
Earlier this year, Bastar: The Naxal Story hit the cinemas amid decent expectations from fans and makers on March 15.
However, the political thriller received mostly negative reviews from both moviegoers & critics which caused it to quickly lose steam at the Box Office.
By the end of its theatrical run, the Indira Tiwari starrer only raked in a sum of Rs 3 crores (approximately )from the ticket windows, becoming a reason for embarrassment for all of its Stakeholders.
Bastar: The Naxal Story Plot
Allegedly inspired by the infamous 2010 Maoist attack (Dantewada) that took place in Chattisgarh Bastar: The Naxal Story touches on the 1910s Bhumkal movement while telling the stories of Naxalite–-Maoist insurgencies in the state’s affected regions.
The thriller entertainer sees its female lead Ahah Sharma portraying a courageous IPS officer Neerja Madhavan who is determined to give a tough time to Naxal terrorists by hook or crook.
How she wreaks havoc on the Maoists & deals with the situation is what the film is all about.

Besides The Kerala Story Fame Adah Sharma, Bastar: The Naxal Story features several other actors including Indira Tiwari, Shilpa Shukla, Vijay Krishna, Yashpal Sharma, Subrat Dutta Raima Sen, and many others in important roles.
Director Sudipto Sen and Amarnath Jha have used their prowess to write the film which is produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah under the banner of Sunshine Pictures.
