New Delhi: Actor Chris Hemsworth’s brother Luke Hemsworth was recently seen playing the character of Thor, which is the character played by Chris in the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise. In a commercial for Old Spice, a popular shaving cream brand, Luke Hemsworth was seen as Thor. The commercial is a humourous spoof which features a different version of Thor.
After Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman will be seen playing the character of Mighty Thor in ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’. After these two Thors, Luke took up the character for a commercial. The commercial was made in association with Marvel Studios.
In the commercial, Luke can be seen speaking like Chris Hemsworth and narrating his experience of playing ‘Thor’. Luke is seen wearing the iconic Thor costume and saying, “You know, playing the God of Thunder is electrifying. A lot of people think me and him look like brothers.” At the end of the commercial, Luke tries to summon Mjolnir, Thor’s hammer, which hovers above his head attached to a wire. “I am worthy…a little lower Gary,” the actor is heard saying his dialogue and giving directions to a crew member at the same time.
In the advertisement, Luke promotes the brand by saying, “Thor has his weapon, I have my Old Spice. Never let the crowd see you sweat.” The tagline of the commercial read, “Smell worthy.”
Chris Hemsworth once told that both he and his brother Liam Hemsworth gave auditions for the role of Thor, however, Chris ended up getting the role. So, now all three siblings have tried the character.
Thor: Love and Thunder will release on July 7 in India. The film stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson and Christian Bale.
