New Delhi: Tee Yod, or Death Whisperer, is a Thai supernatural horror film based on the novel of the same name by Krittanon.

This scary film, directed by Thaweewat Wanta, debuted in limited theatres on October 26, 2023, and went on to become the ninth highest-grossing Thai film of all time. Now, Death Whisperer is almost ready to debut on the over-the-top platform.

Based on some claims, this movie is based on a true tale that went viral online and later became a book. An official trailer has been released, offering a glimpse of the terrifying jump scares and spooky mythology that will be included in the film.

Plot Synopsis

The tragic events of 1972 in Death Whisperer unfold in a small village in Thailand’s Kanchanaburi Province. A young girl’s unexpected and strange death shakes the peaceful village, and everyone is on high alert. A Thai-Chinese farmer family with six children—three sons, Yak, Yos, and Yod, and three daughters, Yard, Yaem, and Yi—begins to experience similar problems not long after.

Yard went through horrific physical changes and agonies when she unexpectedly became sick, culminating in a bloated stomach and a horrific death from internal bleeding. Word is sent for Yak, the oldest son when Yaem gets sick. The three girls had an eerie experience with a ghost woman on their return from school.

Returning from the army in a huff, Yak faces an ancient evil that threatens his family and must race against the hands of the death whisperer to save them. Time is slipping through his fingers as he desperately tries to stop the death whisperer from taking over their home.

When and Where to Watch?

On April 10, 2024, Netflix will begin streaming the supernatural horror flick.

According to the book’s proponents, Death Whisperer is based on a real event that went viral online.
