Demon City OTT Release: Demon City is an upcoming live-action film adaptation of the Japanese comic “Oni Goroshi,” set to premiere on Netflix on February 27, 2025.

Plot

The narrative centers on Shûhei Sakata. Someone wrongfully accuses him of murdering his wife and child. After surviving a self-inflicted gunshot wound, they incarcerate him in a prison hospital.

He remains there for 15 years, enduring physical disabilities.

Upon his release, Shûhei encounters Kanta Fase, a mysterious figure who offers him a chance to regain his physical abilities. This encounter propels Shûhei into a world of crime and vengeance. Therefore, he seeks to uncover the truth behind the tragedy that befell his family.

The film delves into themes of justice, redemption, and the human capacity for resilience in the face of profound loss.

Intense action sequences and emotional depth mark Shûhei’s journey as he confronts both external adversaries and his inner demons.

People once honed and appreciated Sakata for his murderous skills in eliminating those he was required to bring an end to as a hitman. His efficient killing and strength gained him both foes and fellow friends.

However, being a hitman is not as easy. Especially if you have a family. His enemies invade Sakata’s home and murder his wife and daughter in front of him, shooting his family dead.

Such brutal actions happening to those he cares for in front of him fuels a demonic kind of bitter rage inside of Sakata. He swears to avenge the lives of his wife and daughter, believing that someone wrongfully took them away from him.
