New Delhi: A new romantic drama series called Desperate Lies will premiere on Netflix on July 5 with a tearjerking emotion. The protagonist, Liana, is a lady whose life takes a dark turn as she becomes entangled in a web of lies.

The complexity of parenthood is the central theme of Desperate Lies, which delves deeper than a surprising disclosure. A mother’s love for her children becomes passionate, and the trailer shows Liana enduring the difficulties of pregnancy and giving birth. However, there is a significant cost to this love: the weight of the secret and the continual dread of being discovered.

Plot

Liana discovers that her husband, Tomás, is having an affair and decides to leave him. Oscar gives Liana drugs on a night out, and then he sexually attacks her. When Liana finds out she’s pregnant, she searches for the father. She is astonished to hear out she’s carrying twins, with DNA from two men.

Excited anticipation fills the air as the film starts with a shot from a joyful gender revelation. Liana exudes joy as she proudly displays her growing belly. As the news spreads, however, the joy quickly fades: Liana is expecting twins, and the fathers of the children are different.

The teaser shows her inner turmoil as she struggles to raise twins in such unusual circumstances, with the added burden of worrying about others’ opinions of her and the possibility of experiencing tragedy. As Liana’s world begins to fall apart, we see hints of troubled relationships, punctuated by pointed inquiries and concerned looks.
