“Distasteful & factually incorrect”: Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui slams Sidharth’s Mission Majnu; Here is what he said

New Delhi: Adnan Siddiqui, a Pakistani actor, has criticized the Sidharth Malhotra-starring film “Mission Majnu” for its “misrepresentation” of Pakistanis. He has called the film “distasteful” and factually inaccurate. Also, he criticized the movie’s story, execution, and research part.

Taking it to Instagram, he posted his thoughts on the presentation of Pakistanis in the movie. The actor worked with the late actress Sridevi in the Hindi film “Mom,”. Adnan captioned and asked, How much distortion is too much distortion? He then continued to write, Bollywood offers the solution. According to him, Indians should use all their money to employ competent researchers to conduct research on Pakistanis.

According to him, Pakistanis “don’t wear skull caps, surma, and tawiz, neither throw adaabs” as Sidharth was seen doing when portraying Tariq in the Shantanu Bagchi-directed film Mission Majnu.

Posting a thumbs down a representative image, “there’s so much that’s distasteful & factually inaccurate in #MissionMajnu,” he continued to write in the caption. As per his thoughts, if the adversary had been depicted fairly, the hero’s complex as the savior would have been more obvious. A poor protagonist is enhanced by a weak opponent.

In a lengthy caption, he stated that the story is poor, the execution is poorer and the research part of the movie is the poorest.

Mission Majnu, directed by Shantanu Bagchi and starring Sidharth Malhotra and Rashmika Mandanna, premiered on Netflix on January 20, 2023. The spy drama tells the tale of an intelligence sting conducted by India both before and during the Indo-Pakistani War in 1971. In the film, Amandeep Singh, a RAW field operative, goes to Pakistan on a covert mission to investigate Pakistan’s role in the development of nuclear weapons. He has to balance his personal and professional lives while he is there with his blind lover, Nasreen. This genre is not unfamiliar to Sidharth Malhotra as he showed his patriotism by performing the number-one Shershaah.
