Dulquer, Mrunal starrer Sita Ramam’s Hindi version to stream on OTT, check release date here

New Delhi: With a slow and steady pace, Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur starrer period romance Sita Ramam has turned out to be a significant success at the box office. Apart from the original Telugu version, those dubbed in other languages drew a good amount of audience to the cinema halls, including the shows in the Hindi belt.

The venture happens to be writer and director Hanu Raghavapadi’s second project with Dulquer Salmaan post their 2018 hit collaboration film Mahanati. Sita Ramam is produced by C. Aswani Dutt under the banners of Vyjayanthi Movies and Swapna Films.

The Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam versions of the film made their way to the theatres on August 5 this year, while the Hindi dubbed version was released on September 2.

About the movie 

The romance drama is set in the backdrop of 1964, wherein Salmaan plays the male lead as Lieutenant Ram while Mrunal Thakur portrays the female lead as Sita Mahalakshmi. Actress Rashmika Mandanna is also in the key role of journalist Afreen.

Notably, the movie further features prominent faces including Sumanth, Tharun Bhascker, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Bhumika Chawla, Vennela Kishore, Murali Sharma, and others.

OTT Release

Sita Ramam garnered positive reviews from the critics as well as appreciation from the audience. The movie rights of the project were bought by OTT gaint Amazon Prime post its initial release and hence it streamed online on the platform on September 9.

However, only the Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam versions of the film are streaming on Prime, while viewers are still waiting for the platform to release the Hindi version online.

While there has been official confirmation by the makers or the platform regarding the release date of the Hindi dubbed part, reports suggest that it can be permiered by the streamer on the occasion of Dusshera i.e. on October 2.

Though, Amazon Prime is yet to make an official statement on the reports.
