Sylvester Stallone commented on the lead pair, saying that Barney and Christmas are closer than brothers. He also said that they wanted the opening sequences to remind audiences of their friendship. Barney seems to cede power to Christmas at the conclusion, setting the stage for what’s to follow. As it may seem like nothing will change for Barney and the squad, things are about to alter drastically as the operation continues and Barney remains in the cockpit while his soldiers engage in ground combat.
Jason Statham elaborated by saying he wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for Sly, who portrays The Expendables. His inventive attitude and constant support will be much missed by the group.
