Gurugram bar cancels comedian Kunal Kamra’s show after warning from Bajrang Dal; check how netizens react

New Delhi: Kunal Kamra, who usually creates controversy through his comedy show, has to cancel his show in a bar in Gurugram. It is reported that Gurugram bar cancelled the show after it received a warning from Vishwa Hindu Parisad and Bajrang Dal. The show was scheduled to be held on September 17 and 18 at Studio Xo Bar in Sector 29.

In a memorandum to the Gurugram Deputy Commissioner, the VHP and Bajrang Dal said that they would hold a protest and disrupt the show if held. National Spokesperson VHP Vinod Bansal also shared a copy of the memorandum on Twitter.

Vinod Bansal wrote, ”VHP today given a letter to the @DC_Gurugram to cancel the show of AntiHindu Kunal Kamra scheduled in Gurugram on 17th of this month. These hatemongers must be booked under panel provisions of law. Can’t be allowed to perform in public. The @gurgaonpolice sud take action.”

After getting the news, Kamra wrote on Twitter, ”He makes fun of our culture we claim, He makes fun of our deities we think, We have no evidence but his show disrupts our peace, 12 of us don’t want the show to happen & 500 have got tickets to watch it, So what should the authorities do? (UPSC question 10 marks).”

”@ElvishYadav bhaiya ji is zahil ka show nahi hona chahiye aapke gurugram mein,” wrote a user on Twitter.

”This assholes don’t represent my Hindu religion . VHP or any other organization should show Certificate from God whom they act to represent . Hindu religion is beautiful religion and thos 2 rs gutter pukers don’t belong there,” commented a user.

”@gurgaonpolice we hope you don’t take action on such requests. If
@kunalkamra88 does something unlawful, please book him. But, we are not giving the right to these organisations to represent our religion, and neither does religion dictate law. Thanks,” read a commented of user.
