New Delhi: A sweet romantic comedy plot, laced in with a trope of childhood best friends and love at first sight, along with the sprinkled in trope everybody is a heartthrob for, a love triangle. ‘I am the Secret In Your Heart’, is a sweet series that should be on your watchlist this Christmas.
‘I Am the Secret in Your Heart’ is a 2024 Taiwanese romance film directed and written by Lai Meng-chieh. It centers around an ordinary schoolgirl (Lee) who finds herself in a love triangle between a newly transferred student (Tsao) and her childhood friend (Lo).
The film was released theatrically in Taiwan on 2 August 2024 and will release on the streaming platform Netflix, on 30th december, 2024.
Plot
Wang Hsiao-hsia and Yuzu have been together as childhood friends since forever. it is so to the point that everyone at school seems to see them as a couple. Although this is how most of the school sees them, Wang actually yearns for the new transfer student Cheng Yih.
Cheng Yih, who is admired for his exceptional grades, talent, and fighting skills by the whole school. He seems to captivate her heart in a way no one else ever has. The only problem? Despite her academic performance, which is not the greatest.
Wang tries her best to woo Cheng by numerous methods, just to make him see her the way she wants to be seen. Nothing seems to work in her favor as she faces disappointment harsh enough to bring her to tears. What Wang she does not know is that Cheng feels the same way for her.
Meanwhile, her childhood best friend Yuzu is overly protective of her. The idea of her running after someone who doesn’t even seemingly notice her is not what he wants. As summer arrives, a fragrant first love begins to bloom among the three of them, reminiscent of lemongrass.
