New Delhi: Salman Khan got emotional at IIFA 2022 award ceremony and shared the memories of his struggle days. He shared that he did not have any work or money either, after his debut film ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’. Salman Khan credited filmmaker Ramesh Taurani for helping him and called him ‘devta samaan aadmi’ (God-like man).
Salman told the incident where his father Salim Khan paid 2000 rupees and asked producer GP Sippy to make a fake announcement in a film industry magazine that he had signed Salman for a film. He shared that, because of that fake announcement, Ramesh Taurani went to Sippy and paid Rs. 5 lakh for the music of the film. It was because of those 5 lakhs that Salman finally got a film called Patthar Ke Phool (1991).
The actor was in tears while telling how Suniel Shetty once gifted him a shirt and a wallet he wanted but did not have the money to buy them. He hugged Suniel Shetty’s son Ahan Shetty. Salman also hugged Boney Kapoor and thanked him for giving him ‘Wanted’ and reviving his career.
Salman Khan took everyone by his humour when Ritesh Deshmukh and Maniesh Paul while hosting IIFA 2022 asked ‘Who is behind Salman?’. He replied that there is only one man behind him, and that was Shah Rukh Khan as he lives in Mannat which is behind the Galaxy Apartments.
Salman Khan will soon be seen in Tiger-3 with Katrina Kaif. Apart from that, he has No Entry 2 and Kick 2 also lined up.
