New Delhi: Indian actress Tamannaah Bhatia is summoned by Maharashtra Cyber branch over illegal IPL streaming case. According to sources, the actress was summoned as a witness for questioning related to the case. She is asked to appear on 29th of April. Apart from Tamannaah Bhatia, Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt’s name is also mentioned in the case. The actor was asked to appear for interrogation but he couldn’t appear due to his schedule and requested to appear on some other date.
What is the case?
The actress is summoned in connection with the alleged viewing of the IPL matches in the subsidiary app of Mahadev Online gaming. Some sources also say that many watches were streamed illegally in an app and a complaint is also filed . The company viacom had filed a complaint about the violation of the IPR ( Intellectual Property Rights) rights by the Fairplay app. They also mentioned that they only had the exclusive rights to stream the IPL matches but since the app is streaming the matches, they were suffering losses of over Rs 100 crores.
