‘Is this your sisterhood?’ Netizens accuse Sona Mohapatra of ‘sl*t-shaming’ Shehnaaz Gill

New Delhi: Shehnaaz Gill has an army of loyal fans who are willing to go beyond the moon to defend her. It seems like singer Sona Mohapatra has picked on a bee hive with her series of attacks on Shehnaaz Gill.

It all started when Shehnaaz Gill was asked to perform at Lokmat Awards. The Bigg Boss fame won her fans’ hearts when she stopped mid-performance as she heard Azan. The gesture became viral instantly with fans praising her for being so respectful.

However, this appreciation didn’t sit right with Singer Sona Mohapatra who called out Shehnaaz Gill for supporting disgraced director Sajid Khan.

Sona in her tweet said that Twitter gloating over Shehnaaz Gill’s “act of respect” reminded her of the time when Gill supported and ‘glorified’ Sajid Khan when he was on national TV.

She tweeted with the hashtag #metoo, as Sajid Khan was exposed by over a dozen women during the 2018 #Metoo movement in India.

She added that she wishes Shehnaaz Gill had some respect for sisterhood.

In her initial tweet, Sona Mohapatra was alluding to Shehnaaz Gill’s video message to Sajid Khan when he was in Bigg Boss 16.
In the video, Shehnaaz says, ” All my support is with you brother… All the best!

After Shehnaaz Gill’s fans brutally trolled Sona Mohapatra for the initial tweet, she made a second statement where she asked what is Shehnaaz Gill’s talent. Sona called Shehnaaz a low-brow reality TV fame while saying she knows the mode of operation of such women.

Shehnaaz Gill’s army of fans responded by calling Mohapatra a hypocrite. One user wrote, ” Sone Mohapatra, the feminist, is assassinating the character of a woman.”

Another fan wrote, ” You are slut shaming a woman you don’t even know properly.”
