Joe OTT Release Date: Here is when and where to watch this romance drama on the digital platform

New Delhi: Joe was one of the low-budget positive films that did well in Tamil cinema in 2023. Fans of Tamil cinema have been raving about the film ever since its premiere, and now they can finally watch this romantic drama online. On January 15, it will be streamable on Disney Plus Hostsar.

Joe, which garnered rave reviews from A-listers, generated weeks of anticipation among movie fans about its OTT release date. Following a four-week exclusive theatrical run since November 24, 2023, the Tamil film will make its way to streaming platforms today.

Plot

Joe falls deeply in love with Sujithra, a fellow student at an engineering college in Coimbatore. After finishing college, they return to their hometowns, but they face disagreements and difficulties on the route. Their love stays strong no matter what. Their relationship is thrown into a loop when something goes wrong at Sujithra’s place.

Joe chooses to marry Shruthi in his hometown although he struggles to move on. Motivated by her parents’ reputation, Shruthi tries to heal the wounds between Joe and Sujithra, who are deeply attached.

When and Where to Watch?

It is anticipated that Joe will make its OTT debut on streaming services on January 15, 2024, on Disney Plus Hotstar.

More Details

Upon its theatrical premiere, Joe did not have a streaming partner earlier. The big OTT companies are being very careful about collaborating with movies before they hit theatres, which is making it harder for smaller-budget films to get through.

Nelson and Lokesh Kanagaraj, two of the most prominent figures in Tamil cinema, gave their enthusiastic endorsements to the film before its November 24 release. Joe’s streaming rights were purchased by Disney Plus Hotstar only after great reviews from the critics and viewers.

Cast and Crew

Joe was Hariharan Ram S.’s first film-directing effort. The story of Joe’s troubled college relationship and the subsequent mental struggle is a common one. The touching love story of a Tamil boy and a Malayali girl is told in this visually stunning film. An impressive ensemble cast, including Rio Raj, Malavika Manoj, Bhavya Trikha, Charle, and M. J. Shriram, round out the picture.
