New Delhi: After its theatrical debut, the vintage action-romance movie Kaiva, directed by Jayathirtha Jayanna, will soon be available on the OTT platform.
The action-romance Kaiva seems to be a throwback to Bengaluru in the ’80s. The city’s famous Karaga festival will play a significant role in the film, which is based on an actual event that happened in 1983.
In a conversation with the media, Jayathirtha said that hearing a postmortem specialist at a morgue describe a horrific murder from the 1980s inspired him to produce the film. The director revealed this during the discussion, adding that it was based on a real-life occurrence that happened in 1983.
Plot
While looking for a job in Bangalore in the 1980s, Kaiva meets Salma, a dumb lady who works as a typist and falls in love with her. Unfortunately, things go bad for Kaiva and Salma when three thugs—Pakali, Kaleem, and Thambu—think Salma is the girlfriend of their adversary Govindanna. Salma is viciously attacked by the three, who then deface her face with acid. Kaiva enlists Govindanna’s aid in his quest for vengeance against them.
Before focusing on Pakali and Kaleem, Kaiva quickly marries Salma. After quickly eliminating Pakali and Kaleem, Kaiva is apprehended by the police. Kaiva breaks out of the jail after locating Thambu at the home of dancer Rosy. After Rosy accused him of being impotent, Thambu attempted to murder her. However, Kaiva came to the rescue, killed Thambu, and then went back to the police cell. After Govindanna frees Kaiva from jail, he reconnects with Salma again.

Cast and Crew
Under the banner of Abhuvanasa Creations, Kaiva is produced by Ravindra Kumar and directed by Jayatheertha. B. Ajaneesh Loknath created the soundtrack, Shwetpriya Naik shot the film, and K. M. Prakash edited it.
Actors Jayaram Karthik, Nanda Gopal, Ugramm Manju, Yash Shetty, Raghu Shivamogga, and others are featured in the film Kaiva, which stars Dhanveerah and Megha Shetty as the lead. Kaiva also featured Ramesh Indira and Dinakar Thoogudeepa, who played significant characters.
On December 8, 2023, Kaiva was released to mixed reviews from reviewers.
