New Delhi: Tamil star and Nation Award winner ‘Makkal Selvan’ Vijay Sethupathi’s film ‘Maamanithan’ is releasing on OTT on July 15. The film was released in theatres on June 24. The film’s release was delayed by five years before it could finally release in 2022.
The movie follows the life of an auto driver who becomes a mess due to unexpected issues in the family. The film is written and directed by Seenu Ramasamy, who is also known for directing Kanne Kalaimane. ‘Maamanithan’ stars Gayathrie, K. P. A. C. Lalitha, Guru Somasundaram, Anikha Surendran and Shaji Chen, along with Vijay Sethupathi.
The music in the film is composed by the legendary Tamil composer Ilaiyaaraja, along with his two sons Karthik Raja and Yuvan Shankar Raja. The film is made under the banner of YSR Productions as Yuvan Shankar Raja is the producer of the film. The film is co-produced by Shan Sutharsan. Vijay Sethupathi, Seenu Ramasamy and Yuvan have worked together in the 2016 coming-of-the-age Tamil drama, Dharma Durai.

‘Maamanithan’ will release on July 15 on the OTT platform ‘Aha’. The film will release in Tamil as it is part of Aha’s latest venture Aha Tamil. Aha is an over-the-top (OTT) streaming platform owned by Arha Media & Broadcasting Private Limited. It is known to stream regional films and web series in Telugu and Tamil.
