Actress Madhavi Gogate, a popular Marathi and TV star, passed away on Monday due to Covid-19 complications. The actress was aged 58. She was admitted to Seven Hills Hospital in Mumbai after being detected with Covid-19 infections.
Her co-star from the TV serial Anupamaa, Rupali Ganguly, paid her last tribute to Madhavi on social media. Sharing her picture, she wrote, “So much left unsaid. Sadgati Madhaviji.”Rupali played Madhavi’s onscreen daughter.
TV actor Nilu Kohli also took to Instagram to mourn Madhavi’s demise. She wrote, “Madhavi Gogate my dear friend nooooo. I can’t get down to believing that you have left us. Heartbroken @gogatemadhavi you were too young to go. Damn Covid. I wish I had picked up that damn phone and spoken to you when you did not reply to my msg. All I can do is regret now.”
Other Anupamaa actors such as Mehul Nisar and Alpana Buch also recalled her on social media. Alpana Buch, who plays the role of Anupamma’s mother-in-law wrote, “Madhaviji this is not done..actor can not take exit before scene gets over…we will miss you on Anupamaa set…your cute smile.. sweet voice…and humor…we will all miss you,” while Mehul wrote, “Shocked..! Numb..! Unbelievable..! Madhaviji has left us..! RIP#madhavigogate #anupamaa.”
Madhavi was working on the ongoing Anupamaa serial where she played the role of Kanta Joshi, Anupamaa, and Bhavesh’s mother.
The actor has been in the cinema industry for many years. She became popular after her role in the Marathi movie Ghanchakkar. She also starred in several Hindi TV shows such as Koi Apna Sa, Aisa Kabhi Socha Na Tha, Kahin Toh Hoga among others.
