‘Nana Patekar not even 1% of SRK’, says netizens after veteran actor took nasty dig at Shah Rukh & Sunny Deol’s movies

New Delhi: Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 and Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan are two of the most sure Bollywood movies of all time.

While Gadar 2 has already stormed the Box office to become 2023’s second most successful Indian movie, Jawan too is busy writing history by minting exceptional sums of money at the ticket window. However, one particular actor of B Town is apparently not so happy to see the success stories of these 2 all-time blockbuster flicks and has recently opened up about the same.

In a recent interview, Bollywood’s old-hand veteran actor Nana Patekar was seen coming down heavy on Sunny and Shah Rukh’s movies and although he didn’t take the movies’ names directly, netizens are more than convinced that Nana was indeed referring to recently released blockbusters Jawan and Gadar 2.

Labelling the super hit movies as ‘Ghinoni’ (gross) the 72-year-old actor said that the movies were so pathetic that he was unable to watch them till the end and had to leave midway. Nana made the controversial statement during the trailer launch of Vikek Agnihotri’s upcoming movie The Vaccine War.

Here’s what Nana said:

In the viral video, Nana can be heard saying’ Ab is tarah ki movie hit ho rahi hain, ab maine kal ek film dekhi Jo hit hui hai lekin mai puri dekh nahi paa raha tha, Lekin film chalti hai bohot chalti hai. Ab mujhe aisa lagta hai ki bar bar hume is tarah ka meterial dikha ke majboor karte hai ki ye pasand karne lag Jaye.”

His words loosely translate to, “Recently I saw a movie which went super hit on the Box office but it was so bad that I wasn’t even able to watch it completely. I feel that makers are trying to force us to watch such content by repetitively making such movies.”

Netizen reacts

Fans are now wondering if Nana actually means what he said or if he is just using the name of big movies to grab attention and make it into news headlines or cause a stir on social media.

Responding to Nana Pateker’s Jibe at Jawan and Gadar 2, one user wrote, “Jawan ki baat kar raha hai. Vikram Rathore promotes his nepo kid Azaad who looks older than dad.”

Another said, “He is like Naseeruddin Shah always has complaints but also being part of such movies decide it first what you actually want but nepotism part is somehow true”

“Gaddar2 ekdum bakwas . Mujhe to story ek % bhi pasand nhi aayi ,,usme pahale Sunny Deol hum hi jata hai fir jeete fir wafas sunny deol. Or last me electricity ke Pol ukhad deta hai . Ye koii superman thodi hai Fact Jawan 100time better then Gaddar 2″, commented a third user.

Previously, the veteran actor also criticized the makers of Welcome 3 for not casting him in the third instalment of the movie thinking that now he is too old for the same.

Nana Patekar’s work front

On the work front, Nana will be next seen in Vivek Agnihotri’s upcoming The Vaccine War which is believed to be based on the cutthroat race between various medical institutions for creating the vaccine for COVID-19. Besides Nana, the movie casts Anupam Kher in the leading role while featuring Raima Sen, Pallavi Joshi and Girija Oak in supporting roles. It is slated for its release on 28 September 2023.
