Plot
When the woman Nate has secretly loved for years is suddenly abducted under mysterious and violent circumstances, his world shatters in an instant. An ordinary guy by all appearances—a barista with bad luck and an even worse dating record—Nate is no action hero. But there’s one thing that sets him apart: a rare neurological condition that makes him unable to feel physical pain.
What has always seemed like a bizarre and inconvenient medical quirk quickly becomes his greatest advantage. Pushed to his emotional limits and determined to rescue the woman he thought was out of his league, Nate dives headfirst into a dangerous underworld of gangsters, crooked officials, and brutal mercenaries. Along the way, he’s beaten, burned, and bruised—yet he keeps going, immune to the agony that would stop anyone else in their tracks.
As he barrels through one impossible situation after another, Nate’s resilience and sheer recklessness turn him from a nobody into a force to be reckoned with. But his greatest challenge isn’t just surviving—it’s staying human in the face of growing violence and desperation. Because while Nate may not feel physical pain, the emotional toll of his quest—and the secrets he uncovers along the way—cut deeper than any wound ever could.
With time running out and the stakes rising fast, Nate must confront what he’s truly willing to sacrifice to save the woman who changed his life… and whether becoming a hero means losing the very parts of himself that make him who he is.
