Director Amit Rai revealed that the movie had been awarded an A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) following substantial edits to make it suitable for adult audiences. However, the uncensored version will be available for streaming. In an interview with PTI, Rai expressed his stance, stating, “We have decided that we will show the original film (on streaming), a film that the censor never wanted people to see, but… The public has seen the film and given their verdict. If the censor board doesn’t understand it, what do we say?”
Rai went on to share his disappointment about not securing a U/A certificate despite his efforts. In a bid to comply with the CBFC’s requirements, the movie underwent 27 audio and visual modifications before its release.
OMG 2’s narrative revolves around the crucial issue of sex education within the Indian educational system. Amit Rai’s direction brings this important topic to the forefront, with Yami Gautam Dhar, Arun Govil, and Govind Namdev joining the ensemble cast alongside Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi.
As the clock ticks closer to October 8, Bollywood enthusiasts and fans of the original film are gearing up for the digital premiere of OMG 2. With its star-studded cast and a socially relevant storyline, this release promises to be a significant event in the world of Indian cinema.
