New Delhi: Deepika Padukone presented the Oscar-winning song ‘Naatu Naatu’ at the 95th Academy Awards and her fans cannot keep calm, seeing her slaying in a black gown. The actor was in Los Angeles as one of the presenters at the Oscars 2023. From the Cannes jury and FIFA World Cup to the Oscars, Deepika has made a mark globally.
Presenting the song, Deepika defined it as an “irresistibly catchy chorus, electrifying beats and killer dance moves” and also gave the context and the background for the same. This was followed by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava earning a standing ovation for their performance of the song.
As Deepika walked on the red carpet and presented the song in her black off-shoulder velvet gown with a yellow diamond drop necklace, netizens shared her pictures and clips from the event. ‘Naatu Naatu’, composed by MM Keeravani, penned by Chandrabose and sung by Sipliguj and Bhairava, won the Oscars for Best Original Song, ahead of ‘Applause’ from ‘Tell It Like A Woman’, ‘Lift me Up’ by Rihanna from ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ and other nominations.
India’s entry to Best Documentray (Short), ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ also won the Oscars, becoming the first Indian origin film to do so.
With ‘RRR’, ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ and ‘All That Breathes’ making a mark globally and Deepika being the cherry on the top, it is a proud day for Indian cinema.
