OTT releases: Fill your first week of May with these series, movies on Netflix, Voot, Zee 5

New Delhi: It’s hard and scary to get out of our house during the summer months. We try to search for comfort in our homes. Although several movies are getting released in theatres, we search for OTT releases to suffice our comfort. The coming month will have series and movies flooding on several OTT platforms.

Here are some of the new releases that will be streaming on several OTT platforms in the first week of May. Let us take a look here:

1. Baked Season 3: Voot

The series talks about three university flatmates who decided to start a midnight food delivery service. This season will narrate the adventurous journey of the trio when they take a break from their mundane routine and goes to the hill for a vacay. Directed by Vishwajoy Mukherje, the comedy series casts Pranay Manchanda, Shantanu Anam, Manik Papneja, and Kriti Vij in lead roles. The series will stream from May 2.

2. Jhund – Zee 5

Written and directed by Nagraj Popatrao Manjule, the film is an inspirational real-life story of the Nagpur-based Vijay Barse who founded Slum Soccer, an NGO doing stellar work with slum kids. The movie stars legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan along with Ankush Gedam, Babu Kshatriya amongst others in pivotal roles. The movie will be released on May 6.

3. Stories on the next page – Disney+Hotstar

In a unique concept of a micro-anthology film with three original stories, it will stream from May 6. Directed by debutant director Brinda Mitra and produced by Prateek Chakravorty of Pramod Films and Mainak Sen of Deep Films, the film has stellar casts namely Abhishek Bannerjee, Ditipriya Roy, Namit Das, Bhupendra Jadawat, Veebha Anand, Renuka Shahane, Rajeshwari Sachdev and Syed Raza. The movie explores a different relationship with the central theme being Closure. The film will stream from May 6.

4. Thar – Netflix

The movie is set in the backdrop of the 80s, the movie narrates the story of antique dealer Siddharth. The story also shows another side where a remote village, Pushkar in Rajasthan witnesses a series of violent killings. As the local cop Surekha Singh investigates the killings, he comes across Siddharth. The movie features Anil Kapoor, Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor, and Fatima Sana Sheikh. The movie will stream from May 6.
