“Pachinko“ Season 2 to release in August: Know more about the New York Times Bestseller based, American Tele-series

The upcoming season will delve into an extended storyline, following the journey of Sunja and her family as they establish a sturdy foundation for their lives.

New Delhi: Directed by Kogonada and Justin Chon, “Pachinko”, second season is scheduled to release on Friday, August 23, 2024, as announced by Apple+ TV.

Based on the 2017 novel ” by Min Jin Lee and created by Soo Hugh the American drama Television Series received high praise, especially for its cinematography, script, and the actors’ performances. The first season was released on Apple TV+ on March 25, 2022, and the wait for its second season has been highly anticipated ever since.

Second Season Plot and Episodes

The upcoming season will delve into an extended storyline, following the journey of Sunja and her family as they establish a sturdy foundation for their lives. The first episode of the eight-part season is set to debut on Friday, August 23, and subsequent episodes will be released every week until October 11. Pachinko’s second season showcases a talented ensemble cast, including Lee Min-ho, Minha Kim, Anna Sawai, Yuh-Jung Youn, Jin Ha, Eunchae Jung, Soji Arai, Junwoo Han, and Sungkyu Kim. Filming for the second season took place in Toronto from January 9 to March 27, 2023, and in Japan from March 27 to June 16, 2023.

The writing credits for season 2’s eight episodes are attributed to Soo Hugh, Soo Hugh & Christina Yoon, and Melissa Park for one episode each. Ethan Kuperberg and Soo Hugh co-wrote one episode, while David Mitchell, Karen Chee, and Chang-rae Lee, and Haruna Lee collaborated on two separate episodes. Chang-rae Lee solely wrote the final episode.

Pachinko gained lots of attention from Korean and other foreign audiences alike because of its portrayal of characters who face racism, prejudice, stereotypes, and other elements of the Korean experience under Japan’s rule in the 20th century. With prominent actor Lee Minho’s performance and the exceptional cinematography and music score , the series earned favorable reviews from various sources.
