Pepe OTT Release Date: Vinay Rajkumar’s latest Kannada movie Pepe failed to fare well with the cinephiles. Helmed by debutant director Shreelesh Nair, the action thriller was released on big screens in August 2024 surrounded by massive buzz & fan frenzy around its premiere.
However, it remained unsuccessful in clicking with the fans in the theaters & soon nosedived at the Box Office. Now, the latest news is that the movie has started streaming online in India today (October 11, 2024) on Amazon Prime Video, which earlier bought its OTT rights for a decent amount of money. With a basic subscription to Prime membership, viewers can now enjoy Pepe hassle-free, right from the comfort of their homes.
Plot of the Film
Pepe takes place in a 3-decade-long timeline that goes from the 1970s to the 2000s. Penned by Shreelesh S Nair, the movie’s plot unfolds in Coorg where a dominant community has been constantly harassing & oppressing a group of inferior cast for generations while denying them access to a local river’s water.
However, things change when one day, Vinay, a man from the oppressed cast, finally becomes the voice of his people & decides to not tolerate injustice anymore. What happens next & how Vinay’s courage turns the tide is the remaining story of the movie.
Cast and Production
In its star cast, Pepe features a set of skilled actors including Sandhya Arakere, Medini Kelamane, Aruna Balra, Shivu Kabbanahalli, Raviprasad Mandya, Kaajal Kunder and B.M. Sriram Kolar in pivotal roles. Uday Shankar S and BM Sriram have bankrolled the film under the banner of Uday Cine Venture.
