New Delhi: ‘Pushpa: The Rule’ is on floor as director Sukumar shares pictures from a pooja ceremony. Fans awaiting the sequel to ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ have good news as the shooting for the film will begin soon. After a year-long wait and anticipation, the filmmakers have finally begun the process.
In the pictures, the cast and crew pose together after the pooja. Sharing the pictures, director Sukumar B wrote, “Filming begins soon..!” The pictures also show the flowery decoration during the ceremony and the clapper with ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ written on it kept with the deities. Allu Arjun, who played the titular character in the film, could not attend the ceremony as he is currently in the USA.
Earlier this month, the production of the film was put on hold after the stoppage of work was called by the producers’ union in the Telugu film industry. The problems raised during the strike include a rise in production cost, declining footfalls at the box office, regulations on ticket prices and growing challenges from the OTT platforms.
According to reports, the filming locations have been finalised and the shooting might begin in September. Earlier it was to begin in the third week of August, but the strike delayed the process.
The film revolves around a labourer who rises through the ranks of a smuggling syndicate, infuriating some powerful forces in the process. The protagonist Pushpa Raj is played by Allu Arjun, while the movie stars Rashmika Mandanna as Srivalli and Fahadh Faasil as Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat. The film also features Ajay Ghosh, Rao Ramesh and others in supporting roles. The sequel will feature a clash between Pushpa Raj and Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat. The film is produced by Mythri Movie Makers and is expected to release next year.
