New Delhi: Dara Singh, a former wrestler and actor, was born Deedar Singh Randhawa on November 19, 1928. Throughout his career and lifespan, Dara Singh wore a variety of headwear. Singh was a filmmaker, producer, and member of parliament, as well as an actor and wrestler.

Dara Singh began playing pehelwani, a sport he was required to do from a young age, before stepping foot in a Hindi film.
