New Delhi: Shabana Azmi, a veteran actress, recently expressed her support for the divisive film ‘The Kerala Story’, which has been accused of inciting religious division and propagandizing against the state. Those who want to boycott the movie, she claims, are “as wrong as those who wanted to ban” Laal Singh Chaddha last year. Kangana responded to her tweet hours later and agreed. She went on to state that “no one asked for a ban” on Aamir Khan’s movie. Shabana appears to have replied to this.
Shabana Azmi expressed her support for ‘The Kerala Story’, writing, “Those who speak of banning #TheKeralaStory are as wrong as those who wanted to ban Aamir Khan’s #Laal Singh Chaadha.” Nobody has the ability to become an additional constitutional authority once a picture has been certified by the Central Board of Film Certification.”

“This is a very valid point aside from the fact that no one asked for a ban on LSC people just not wanting to see it for numerous reasons, the primary one being it was a remake of an extremely popular old Hollywood classic which most people had previously seen,” the Queen actress said.
This is a very valid point except for the fact that no one asked for a ban on LSC people just didn’t want to see it for many reasons, major reason was it was a remake of a very popular old Hollywood classic which most people had already seen … https://t.co/n4hLrMyZ9N

“So, Twitterati who claim there was only a boycott of LSC and no call for a ban, please refresh your memory.” “There was a PIL asking for a ban,” the seasoned actress responded to Kangana’s post.

Even before it hit the big screen, Laal Singh Chaddha was mired in controversy. It was charged with slandering the Indian army.
