New Delhi: The defense of Sameer Wankhede, the former anti-drugs cop accused of attempting to blackmail Shah Rukh Khan after detaining his son Aryan Khan in 2021, was presented on Friday by the alleged copies of his conversations with the Bollywood star.
Shah Rukh Khan allegedly begged Sameer Wankhede to release Aryan Khan because “he will break as a human being” in the allegedly intercepted discussions, according to screenshots filed to the Bombay High Court by the former zonal director of the Mumbai Narcotics Control Bureau.
On October 3, 2021, an anti-drugs operation on a party aboard a cruise ship resulted in the arrest of Aryan Khan. He was freed just over a month later.
The CBI has now accused Wankhede of allegedly requesting payment of 25 crores from Shah Rukh Khan in exchange for Aryan Khan’s peace.
SRK appears to have written lengthy, pleading texts pleading with the police to release his son in the chats that Wankhede presented in court.
“Please, I beg you, do not place him in that jail. When these holidays arrive, he will break as a human. He would lose his spirit as a result of certain selfish individuals. You pledged to reform my child rather than subject him to a situation from which he would emerge battered and broken. “And it’s no fault of his,” a screenshot shows the 57-year-old actor writing.
“I beg you have mercy on my family and I. My kid has been a little wayward, but we are a simple family, and he doesn’t deserve to be locked up like a seasoned criminal. And you’re aware of it. Have a heart, sir, please, I beseech you,” a supposed note reads. “Love srk” is a common signoff at the conclusion of the texts.
The conversations have not been verified. Neither Shah Rukh Khan nor his legal counsel have responded.
