Shark Tank

New Delhi: Shark Tank is a show that was an instant hit among Indian audiences. Now that the super hit show is back with its season two, its fans are once again glued to their screens.

On Tuesday, The show aired its second episode of the second season. One highlight of the episode was when judge Anupam Mittal broke down in tears during a pitch.

The pitch was made by Abhishek Baheti who introduced his product- a smartwatch for kids. Laden with many interesting features, what took the cake was the safety feature, which aims to keep children safe when they are away from their parents.

Abhishek Baheti told that his inspiration for creating this brand was a family tragedy. He recalled how his Mumbai house caught fire some years ago. The fire incident broke apart his family by killing one kid and one elderly member. Devastated by his loss, he developed his safety watch that will connect children to their parents in such disastrous situations.

This story moved the Judges and audience alike, leading to Anupam Mittal revealing how he has faced a similar tragedy in his life. The Shaadi.com founder burst into tears as he told that he lost his grandmother (nani) in a fire. He also asked the pitch maker why he didn’t make a similar watch for the elderly as they are just as vulnerable.

Anuman Mittal said his grandmom’s demise shattered his heart. He choked up in tears, ” I kept thinking how she must have cried for help.” His heartbroken state made other sharks emotional as well.

He once again asked Abhishek to think of old people as well.

Abhishek’s pitch was successful as Anupam Mittal and Sugar cosmetic CEO and Founder Vineeta Singh sought 10 percent equity for 1 crore and also offered 1 cr dept with 15 percent interest.

Abhishek accepted their offer.
