Sidonie in Japan OTT Release: The Romantic french drama ‘Sidonie in Japan’ will be arriving in the OTT Platforms from 4th October. However, viewers will have to pay to watch the film. The film was also premiered at the 80th edition of the Venice Film Festival.
Plot
The story of the film follows the life of a write whose husband is no more and she is battling with the losss of her husband. The Woman’s name is Sidonie Perceval and she is a writer by profession.
The woman is invited to Japan for the reedition of her first book. She is invited by her local editor who welcomes her to Japan and takes her to Kyoto. Kyoto is a city of shrines and temples.
As they travel and explore throught the various temples and shrines in the city, she slowly shares her traumatic experience with him. However, Sidonie is not aware that the ghost of her husband is following her everywhere.
Soon Sidonie gets close to her publisher and develops a bond with him unaware of the fact that her husband’s ghost is keeping an eye on her all the time. As the writer was in the city Kyoto, one day she spots the ghost of her husband.
She asks him why have you come back? Her husband tells her he was never gone. She shares this thing with her editor and tells him that she has the presence of her husband around her
And he is watching her all the time. Her Editor tells her that in Japan we keep our feelings to ourselves.
Cast and Production
The French drama is directed by Elise Girard and the cast features Isabelle Huppert, Tsuyoshi Ihara, August Diehl, Yuoko Hitomi in pivotal roles.
