Sui Dhaaga Review: The predictability of the movie drags it down, click here to read more
Sui Dhaaga was one of the most awaited movies of the year. Both Anushka and Varun worked tirelessly to promote the movie on all platforms. However, the movie fails to push the limits and present something new.
The biggest drawback of the movie is that it is predictable. The set-up of the film couldn’t be simpler. There’s a retired father played by Raghubir Yadav, who has never been anything more than a wallflower.
There is a mother whose only wish is to get two buckets of water before the municipality stops the supply for the day. They keep mumbling to themselves and don’t know from where their next meal will come from in the hours of crisis.
The best part of the movie is the character portrayal by Varun and Anushka. As a married, they are determined and comfortable on screen. Varun Dhawan surprises with his gentle and docile role, whereas Anushka Sharma holds her own and never lets anyone snatch her spotlight.
In the course of the movie you are cheering for the couple to win over the mechanical industry but the movie is deprived of spark. Overall the movie is a safe bet and leaves you with a feel-good sensation.
