Team ‘RRR’, Guneet Monga return back to India with Oscars, receive grand welcome at airports

New Delhi: Team ‘RRR’ and ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ producer Guneet Monga landed in India with Oscars in hand and received a grand welcome at airports. ‘Naatu Naatu’ composer MM Keeravaani, singer Kaala Bhairava and filmmaker SS Rajamouli landed in Hyderabad while actor Ram Charan was spotted at the Delhi airport. Guneet Monga landed at the Mumbai airport after the historic win in Los Angeles.

MM Keeravaani and SS Rajamouli were clicked at the Hyderabad airport. ‘Naatu Naatu’ won the award for Best Original Song at the 95th Academy Awards and has become a global sensation. Kaala Bhairava, one of the voices behind the song, shared a note to express his gratitude after the victory. Kaala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj also performed the song at the Oscars ceremony as Deepika Padukone introduced ‘Naatu Naatu’.

Ram Charan and his wife Upasana landed at Delhi airport and were surrounded by fans. The couple was in Los Angeles to attend the award ceremony and the Vanity Fair Oscars Afterparty.

Meanwhile, Guneet Monga, at the airport, said that their documentary had big competition as there was another film in the category supported by Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai. She added that their film worked across countries and ages, and they received love from across the globe.

‘The Elephant Whisperers’ is directed by Kartiki Gonsalves and created history by becoming the first Indian production to win an Oscar. Monga, however, won another Oscar in 2019 for the documentary short film, ‘Period: End of Sentence’ by Iranian American filmmaker Rayka Zehtabch.
