New Delhi: Fans & well-wishers of Bollywood diva Alia Bhatt woke up concerned as yet another deep fake clip of their favorite actress went viral on social media.
The video, made with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI), sees Alia taking part in the popular Get Ready With Me (GRWM) trend and was uploaded on Instagram by a user named “Sameeksha Avtr” about 3 days ago.

With a note reading “All the videos made with using AI for only entertainment purposes.” written in their Instagram Bio, Sameeksha Avtr, through her social media account, dropped a post featuring Alia Bhatt on June 11, 2024.
The post features the face of the ‘Student of the Year’ actress superimposed on the body of another woman who is seen doing GRWM (Get Ready With Me) by dressing up in front of the camera & filming herself simultaneously. It has so far garnered over 20 Million views on Instagram alone & is drawing mostly negative reactions from Internet users.

Taking to the comment section of Alia Bhatt’s AI Deepfake video, netizens lashed out at the Instagram user for making Alia’s deep fake video & uploading it on social media without her permission.
While many raised concern over the increasing cases of AI technology’s misuse with each passing day, others demanded the authorities bring a law that specifically regulates AI & limits its usage by the masses.
One user wrote, “I am scared of Artificial Intelligence at this point.” Another asked, “Is it even legal to edit the face and post this kind of video? A third added, “I really hope you have consent for using the AI that uses real human faces.”
