New Delhi: Renowned Bollywood beauty Preity Zinta’s recent appearance in the ongoing 77th annual Cannes Film Festival became the talk of the town amongst fans for various reasons.
While a section of the actress’ fans went gaga on her head-turning appearance at the high-octane festival, a good amount of netizens trolled her for allegedly speaking in a fake accent during the event.
Preity Zinta Trolled For Fake Accent
In the prestigious event, Preity Zinta captivated her fans while looking gorgeous in her Pink saree with a blouse of the same color. To enhance her looks even more, the Veer Zara actress also put off a pair of large earrings and left her hair untied. She also interacted with Several of her fans who were present at the fest & even let them take selfies with herself.
However, when a Brute India journalist interacted with the Preity and asked her about the dress she was wearing, she replied in an unusual accent saying, “It is wonderful. I’m coming here after a very long time. I’m very excited and happy to be here.”
A video of the same latter went viral on the internet & gave the veteran actress’ critics a good opportunity to school her over her allegedly made-up accent.

Taking to the comment section of the clip, many netizens pointed out how Preity talked at the Cannes festival & accused her of speaking in a fake accent. An Instagram user said, “Her accent is so fake and ridiculous.” Another one asked, “What the hell is wrong with her accent.” A third person added, “Whatever happened to her accent jeez.”
However, a few fans of the actress also defended her by giving her trolls befitting replies in the comment box. Responding to those making fun of the Bollywood actress’ accent, a fan added, “Well her husband is American, she lives in America, so maybe stop judging her.
Another comment read, “Accent is a part of language..one cannot just speak in a certain language without their accent. it’s the way it is and it comes naturally when you speak any foreign language.
