Plot
Cadence Sinclair Eastman, the eldest grandchild of the powerful and affluent Harris Sinclair, has grown up within the carefully curated perfection of the Sinclair family. Every summer, she joins her relatives on their secluded private island off the coast of Massachusetts—a place of sunlit days, elegant homes, and unspoken rules. There, she shares an inseparable bond with her cousins Johnny and Mirren, and with Gat, the thoughtful and rebellious boy who captures her heart. Together, they are known as the “Liars,” a tight-knit group bound by youthful mischief and a deep emotional connection.
But during the summer of her fifteenth year—referred to within the family only as Summer Fifteen—Cadence suffers a mysterious and traumatic accident. Rescuers find her disoriented and injured, with no clear memory of what led to her condition. Her grandfather and mother shield her from the details, urging her to rest and recover away from the island.
Two years later, now seventeen, Cadence returns to the island for the first time since the accident, hoping to reconnect with her cousins and reclaim the pieces of herself she lost.
